BIOGRAPHY

Pirjo Koppi “Pink Lady” is a passionate spokesperson of floristry. She has done quite a bit in the world of floristry. Floristry comes as natural to Pirjo as breathing and she sees no difference between work and free time. Everything evolves around flowers! Pirjo graduated as florist in 1995 ja took her Master Florist Exam in 2000. She has also studied floristry in Flornet Education (9 modules) throughout Europe. In 2005 she became a teacher in floristry for Finnish Florists’ Association, and in 2013 she took the new FLORINT National judge and assessor in floristry certificate.

Her first floral demonstration was held over 25 years ago; since then she has performed and held workshops in Finland and in Australia, Belgium, Estonia, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and USA.

Pirjo likes to challenge herself and the rush she gets in the competitions is one of the reasons she keeps on competing. Most importantly competitions are the best way to learn new things, learn how you perform under pressure and are able to create new things.
Pirjo’s first competition was in 1996 and she has achieved numerous first places, as well other top rankings such as third places in both World Cup 2015 and Europa Cup 2016.

Pirjo promotes the joys of floristry by actively organizing all kinds of floristry events with other likeminded. In 2015 she became a Floral Fundamentals ambassador.

Her floral designs are published in several publications. Her first own book ”Beautification With Floral Jewellery” was published in 2014.

Since 2016 Pirjo is part of the FLOOS project and is one of the Master Florist who publishes her works in The Crafter's Secret, Vol 02 (2017).

 

PHILOSOPHY

The world is full of beauty, colours and joy - you just have to find them. I love flowers, the colour pink and the florist's life, with all the tiny details - this is the floral gospel I want to share with everyone through my work.
